I've always found that word of mouth is the greatest form of advertising. I'd say a small handful of my clients have found me via search engines or links, while the rest have been recommended! No harm in being up there either way! :D The next Barcamp is in Galway in September, I think. I'll be down for that alright. Fair play to you "seeding" the rest of the country. ;) There is always room at the top. That's my mantra anyway. But let me tell you, the volume of the term is not anywhere near what you may think. Remove the location targeting and there is a lot more, but mainly browsers. Word of mouth is much more powerful in a service industry.
