They are google maps. You can probably get maps for Ireland through your GPS supplier.

Hi Alan,

I'm currently integrating Yahoo into an application and finding it pretty much the same as Google. No real complications. I'm using the AJAX method and if you have already used Google AJAX API, you should not have a problem with the integration, I don't think. I haven't used the Map24 API but will be looking at doing that next.

Rgds,

Hi David, how did you find the API to work with on each and implement into a site?
As you say here Google does not have the same coverage of ireland so i am looking to move ww.biology.ie over to a more detailed mapping system. However the less development time to change the better.

The first thing I always do is look up my own area [naturally]

Google and Map24 don't show Enniskerry at all. It is a blank hole in the map

Yahoo has it down to fine detail including naming the roads and estates.

So I suppose it is horses for courses!!

Excellent article. I have been playing around with maps for a while now, mainly Google maps but most of the regions I am mapping are away from the Urban centres where the level of details renders the map more or less useless.

Great to come across this article and many thanks for putting it together. I'll certainly be having a good look at Map24's API..
