(Just found these posts on rarely-inspected referer logs.)

Google's results are still not quite as good as Yahoo's, I should mention. They make global assumptions about how streets are numbered. If you are (for example) on a street which goes up in ones and comes back down in ones, like I am, the results are hilariously wrong on Google Maps, but Yahoo's app nails it.

Irrelevantly, but interesting nonetheless: check out the sat imagery on Ask.com Maps. You can practically see my dog.

It still amazes me how post manages to find its way in the South, let alone have Google Geocode addresses.

Hi David,

Good news indeed.

Do you know if it's possible to register an Irish business in the google local business directory? Or would you know when that will be possible?

Thanks
James

Kevin, you asked whether somebody is hankering for corrections...

Google get their data for Ireland from Teleatlas. The have a map feedback system called Map Insight.

Like the only GPS I've seen, the map here misnames Sitric Place, an admittedly tiny street in Stoneybatter. This one gives it the name of Olaf Road, an adjoining street.

Is someone sitting at a desk somewhere, hankering for corrections? Or should we just cherish our new exclusivity?
